Dr
Jenny Webster-Brown
Jenny holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology and Chemistry, and a PhD in Geochemistry. She has been involved in environmental geochemistry research and consulting since 1985, initially working for DSIR and ESR, before joining GEOKEM on a part time basis in 1998. She also lectures in environmental chemistry and water quality at the University of Auckland.
She has expertise in the behaviour of arsenic and other trace elements released into rivers and streams, how to predict or assess the toxicity of these elements, and how to minimize environmental impacts. Recent projects include assessments of the environmental effects of arsenic on waterways in the Philippines and New Zealand, and of the effects of discharges from New Zealand gold and coal mining operations.
